What & Why

What Do Children Learn Here?
They learn about horses – of course!
(horse care, body language/non-verbal communication).
They also learn about themselves, their strengths and individuality.
They learn about responsibility, empathy, respect and teamwork.
They learn about reading, writing and math!
They learn how to make friends and how to manage stress.
Why Horses?
Horses have a calming effect on nervous systems overwhelmed by trauma, grief, anxiety or coping with learning or attention difficulties.
While being supported by certified EFW (Equine Facilitated Wellness) practitioners, students learn to care for a horse that weighs 1000 lbs. which can be intimidating at first, then...empowering and exciting!
Horses help us define healthy boundaries for ourselves and others in a very natural way.
Horses do not care about our age, size, race or social status nor do they care about what we may have been diagnosed with. They are sensitive and respond to positive direction and reinforcement (like us!).
Children learn to adjust their behavior according to the impact it is having on the horse, increasing self-awareness naturally.
Each student's success is optimized through specialized attention, evidence-based methods that support emotional connection, improved learning and ultimately, confidence.
This is a wonderful place to start your journey into the Wonderful World of Horses.... and a great launch for ANY beginner.
